Created as a way to provide a fun, high-quality, and affordable toy for families during the holiday season, the first Hess Toy Truck was introduced in 1964. From that moment on, the annual release of a new toy truck is a highly anticipated event by collectors and enthusiasts alike and a treasured holiday tradition for millions of families.
SPEEDWAY HONORS TRADITION
With the acquisition of Hess in 2014, Speedway identified the Hess toy truck as a perfect opportunity to connect with loyal Hess customers and reassure them that Speedway would continue Hess’ level of quality service and customer-first approach. In 2015, Speedway introduced their first holiday toy truck, the Limited 1st Edition Collector Toy Truck 2015 Speedway 1938 International D2 Pickup. This marketing promotion was a big success and has been followed by the 2016 Mack Pinnacle Day Cab with Fuel Tanker Trailer and the 2017 International DuraStar Fire Truck with working lights and sounds.
